Empowering Education

Bloom Advocacy guides you along your unique journey

We offer personalized and interactive learning experiences to help you achieve your goals.

Improve Your Knowledge with Bloom Advocacy

American Sign Language Courses

Choose from a wide range of ASL courses offered by Bloom Advocacy and learn at your own pace. With interactive lessons and experienced instructors, you can gain new skills and knowledge from the comfort of your home or meet in-person for weekly, 2x a week, once a month, 2x a month, or specialized training sessions for you or your organization.

Understanding Education Options and Decision Making

Learn about educational options for your child with hearing loss. We will evaluate existing and/or new records/diagnosis  such as Individual Educations Plans (IEP), Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP), and 504 Accommodations to help you navigate best practices implementation.

K-12 Public Education Teams, D/HH Organizations, Private/Charter Schools, Home School Groups

Learn how to apply the laws related to Deafness, understand the various team members in each setting and explore the pros/cons of each educational route to navigate for success and position your family for the best outcomes possible. Get advocacy support during meetings to insure you and your child's voice is heard.

Professional Sign Language Interpreters

Get guidance and support about working with professional sign language interpreters. We can explain qualifications for educational interpreters, how to work with interpreters in the community, and what to expect related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Request professional interpreting services for various assignments for contracted Ed K-12, college, religious, and community settings. Bring in an interpreter to educate staff and volunteers about the necessity for paid qualified interpreters for your organization.

Understanding Audiology, Speech Therapy, Assistive Listening Devices and Cochlear Implants

Learn how to read an audiogram, know what to expect at audiology appointments for hearing aids or cochlear implants, learn why speech therapy is beneficial based on your child's degree of hearing loss, and explore technology options. We support all modes of communication with or without technology and believe that each child and family can make the right decision.

Make Connections

Are you new to the Deaf Community or just learning how to advocate for your child? We can help you get connected with advocacy organizations, non-profits, and/or families in your area. A variety of organizations in your area, state and nationally can provide a wealth of knowledge when navigating Deafness.

Develop a Supportive Network

We will help you navigate your new normal and get connected with experienced parents who have been through a similar journey. It is important to have a support system that understands your concerns and can walk beside you.
